What our Patrons are saying
The Bear Claw Treehouse is a truly uniqe experience on such a charming piece of property! The treehouse has a transparent roof, so you can enjoy the stars at night. The decks overlooking the creek are the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature. We are already planning our next trip back, and can't wait!
Burks--october 2022
It was exactly what we were needing for our stay. Our dogs loved having room to run around and the creek to cool off in. Lots of attention to detail. The roof of the treehouse is translucent and it was very cool to watch the lighting bugs at night! Highly recommend!
Christopher--may 2022
We loved everything about it. No better place to clear your head and just breathe. So peaceful and quiet. Our dogs were extremely happy. We definitely would like to reserve this hidden gem again and again!
Kristen--october 2022
Beautiful property. The host went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Our adventure kitty,Rosey, loved roaming the woods.

It was known as Olitifar and said to be in ruins when de Soto came thru
Parties
In the 30's and 40's folks would drive in by the bridge on county road 31 and park along the creek bank (down by main house) campout and have 4th of July fish fries etc.

An unbelievable labor of love that should be experienced. It's 3 hours from the treehouse
maybe re-route to see on the way back home or next time out.
Things to Know
be careful as you drive in, Barker Mountain is full of deer and they cross hwy 23 day and night
there is no shoulder to escape trouble...you must be able to stop
Bear Claw's driveway is on the 6.5 MM of hwy 23 between Springville and Ashville
the signage is minimal... go slow,
the entrance is gated, and semi-steep like to the Batcave...
with none of the chaos
